Autonomy
Think of autonomy as giving someone’s jaggedness wings. This does not mean a free for all but scaffolded, guided supported freedoms which allow for a person to grow and their purpose to begin to take flight.
I have personal struggles with ambiguity so I feel I may coddle students
I have a system of rewards and incentives for consistent effective goal setting for students
I sometimes feel I need a lot of guidance and specific tasks given to feel successful
I involve my students in rubric development for self-assessing and outcomes
Pathways
There are various was to reach one destination and there are an infinite number of destinations. The very best pathways for an individual should leverage jaggedness and context to complete each other for a person’s pathways.
